Shipping Coordinator
Lead daily shipping operations, coach a skilled team, and drive safe, accurate, on-time delivery while improving warehouse performance at Netafim.
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and directing daily shipping operations to ensure customer orders are processed accurately, safely, and on time. This position provides day-to-day leadership to shipping personnel, assigns and monitors work activities, supports training and performance development, and helps ensure operational objectives are achieved. The Shipping Coordinator works alongside the team in the execution of shipping activities while serving as a subject matter expert for shipping processes, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, and quality standards.
In partnership with the Distribution Center Supervisor, this position supports continuous improvement initiatives, promotes Lean operational excellence, and helps drive a culture of safety, accountability, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate and monitor fulfillment of customer orders to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
Provide hands-on operational support when necessary to maintain service, quality, and productivity objectives.
Communicate proactively with Customer Service regarding inventory shortages, shipment delays, quality concerns, and order exceptions.
Investigate and document shipping discrepancies, inventory variances, order exceptions, and process failures; implement corrective actions within established procedures and escalate complex issues as needed.
Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper handling, storage, and shipment of finished goods in accordance with quality and safety standards.
Coordinate and assign daily work activities to shipping personnel to meet operational priorities, customer commitments, productivity goals, and service requirements.
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate execution of work.
Monitor workflow, quality, productivity, and safety performance while providing real-time guidance and support.
Escalate employee performance concerns, training needs, staffing challenges, and operational risks to the Distribution Center Supervisor.
Promote and enforce warehouse safety policies, hazard reporting, and safe work practices, including OSHA compliance requirements.
Promote and reinforce 5S, Lean, and standard work practices while identifying opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, safety, and operational efficiency.
Support inventory accuracy through proper transaction processing, investigation of discrepancies, and coordination with Inventory Control personnel.
Support the Distribution Center Supervisor with KPI tracking, operational reporting, workload planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in cross-training employees to support operational flexibility and business continuity.
Maintain compliance with company quality standards, ISO requirements, safety policies, and standard operating procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
4+ years of warehouse, shipping, logistics, or distribution experience preferred.
Experience utilizing SAP, ERP, WMS, TMS, or other warehouse and transportation management systems.
Experience operating Forklift, Reach Truck, and Order Picker equipment preferred; certification required or ability to obtain certification.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate daily workflow and provide work direction to warehouse personnel.
Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules as business needs require.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Advanced knowledge of shipping, warehousing, inventory control, and transportation processes.
Knowledge of parcel, LTL, and FTL shipping operations and transportation documentation requirements.
Working knowledge of SAP, ERP, WMS, TMS, and carrier software platforms.
Ability to assign, prioritize, and coordinate daily work activities to meet operational objectives.
Ability to coach, train, and develop employees through performance feedback and on-the-job instruction.
Ability to recognize operational issues, identify appropriate solutions, and implement corrective actions within established procedures.
Strong understanding of inventory accuracy, shipping verification processes, and quality requirements.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with employees, leadership, Customer Service, carriers, and other cross-functional partners.

Preferred Qualifications
SAP experience.
Transportation Management System (TMS) experience.
Experience utilizing parcel shipping software platforms (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.).
Experience in a lead, trainer, mentor, or subject matter expert role.
Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement experience.
Experience coordinating labor resources and workflow within warehouse or distribution operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory authority and does not make final employment decisions regarding hiring, discipline, promotion, compensation, or termination.
In partnership with the Distribution Center Supervisor, the Shipping Lead provides day-to-day work direction, coaching, training, and operational support to shipping personnel while helping ensure departmental objectives are achieved.
